I do think that facebook and many of its applications are signs of the longing for community that many people feel. But nothing takes the place of face-to-face, hand-to-hand sharing and doing in real time in a real place. I'll post this on my own facebook page and maybe shake up a few of the farmville faithful!

Peace,

We each work really hard to make enough money so that we don't have to depend on one another. Isn't that the (unstated) goal? We don't want to ask a friend for money or live at home when we're graduated and single. Success has become the ability to buy what you want, when you want.

"...there is no correlation between increased income and increased happiness," according to an article I read the other day (http://www.utne.com/Spirituali.... The author goes on to advocate communal living habits if contentment is the goal.

I think you're on to something. Keep it up!

Re: Weeds to Wonders

Greg and I can't wait to get back into the garden this spring. From the feedback, spending time in the garden was the most popular thing we did.
The Austrian winter peas may become a new dinner time staple. Asa's lips were green from eating so much of it.

Re: The Princesses and the Peas

Wonderful blog!
